Praharaju Laxminarayana is a Biologist from Madras University and completed a short course in Biotechnology from Cornell University USA and acquired post graduate qualifications in the field of Marketing & Management.
Mr. Praharaju Laxminarayana has 4 decades of rich experience in the field of biotechnological approaches on Integrated Pest Management, innovative agri-based product promotion and marketing. He worked on sustainable, ecofriendly agriculture products and being pioneer in establishing pheromone technology, promotion of novel concepts, training, and field activities with special emphasis to bioherbicide, Bts & NPV in India. He held various senior positions in companies like M/s Rallis India Limited & M/s Montari Industries Limited, M/s Ecomax Agro Systems Ltd, and promoted novel science-based Bio-Pesticides, Agrochemicals and Agro Inputs. He was also an Independent Director on board of State Bank of Hyderabad. He has been a members of various organizations like Life Member Administrative Staff College, Hyderabad, Regional Vice President (South), All India Federation of Organic Farming (IFFOF), Vice President, South Asian Society for Promotion of Pheromone Technology (SASSAPT) Bangalore, Chairman, Bio-Pesticides Research Consortium, ICRISAT, Hyderabad and Life Member of Indian Science Congress. He has been a business associate for several National and International leaders in Agricultural and Public health Biological products and member Business advisory board to ATGC Biotech Pvt. Ltd. for development and promotion of pheromones for mating disruption.
With his vast experience, he established AG Bio Systems in the year 1997, purely a manufacture and marketing of sustainable agriculture products and received several awards for his contribution to insect pest management using semiochemicals and bioherbicides for weed control. He has been recipient of various prestigious awards and recognitions like Global awards from World Bio Pesticides Awards 2019, Swansea University, UK, Telangana State Industry Awards 2019.
He is granted 3 International patents for his work on Bio herbicides development from USA, Japan and Australia. 21 National and International patents are in process for the work on bioherbicide products, which are highly specific, first time in the world, for control of Weeds like Parthenium, Lantana and Water hyacinth.
