Dr. KRK Reddy

Dr. KRK Reddy obtained M. Sc. and Ph. D. in Plant Sciences from Kakatiya University, Warangal, India and Post-Doctoral training in Plant Biotechnology from Central University of Hyderabad, India and University of Bayreuth, Germany. Dr. Reddy started Sri Biotech Laboratories at Hyderabad, Telangana State, India during 1994 with a focus to develop safe and green alternatives to Agro-chemicals for crop nutrition and protection. The in-house R & D of the company is well recognized by national and international research institutions. The focus of the research was the isolation and characterization of microbes associated with abiotic and biotic stress of the crop plants followed by product development. This led to development of novel delivery systems which can go hand in hand with farmer’s regular practices. Under his leadership, the company has received several National and International grants to establish collaborative research under public-private partnership in Plant Biotechnology. Dr. Reddy guided several post-graduate and Doctoral students and filed seven patents. Member of several national and international societies, board of studies and served in biotech committees includes Osmania University, Kakatiya University, Yogi Vemana University, Nagarjuna University and Padmavathi Mahila University in India. Served the Department of Biotechnology, Govt. of India as a member of task force on Biofertilizers and Biopesticides. Currently, he is the President, Bio-agri Input Producers Association (BIPA), member of FICCI-Telangana State sub-committee on Agriculture and Food Processing and CII-Telangana State task force on Agriculture. Received several International, National and State level awards such as Best R&D, Best MSME, Best Innovation, Best Industry from Honourable Presidents of India for his contributions in research, innovations, product development with special reference to bio intensive integrated crop management to improve agricultural productivity. Valagro S.p.A, an Italian Global Leader in commercialization of biostimulants and specialty nutrients acquired a majority stake of Sri Biotech Laboratories, since, Sri Bio’s has been recognized for its contribution to the development of environmentally sustainable, biological alternatives for pest, weed and disease control in agriculture. Currently, Dr. Reddy is heading Sri Bioaesthetics Pvt. Ltd., in Hyderabad, Telangana State, India which is involved in crop Microbiome Research and Product Development to address the current problems of agricultural crops and their sustainable development. Serving an International Advisory Board Member and Vice President-industries of Asian PGPR Society for Sustainable Agriculture since its inception.
